Media Robot Utility, Version 1.4 Software Release Notes Graphic User Interface Options (Digital Unix only) MRU, Version 1.4 includes two options for the graphic user interface: - Motif version - Common Desktop Environment(CDE) version You can install either the Motif version, or the CDE version, or both. Each comes with on-line help. The primary difference between them is that the Motif version shows all media robots connected to the node, and the CDE version shows only the default robot, or the robot specified with the xrobot command. Revised Support --------------- MRU Version 1.4 supports: * Unix - CLI Version 4.0D through 4.0F and Unix - GUI Version 4.0D through 4.0F * ESL9000 Libraries * Firmware V4.09 and later for TL800 family libraries * Wild card support for the CLI command robot find cartridge Previous Version Support ------------------------ MRU Version 1.4, like Version 1.3 does not support the following: - OpenVMS, Version 5.5-2 - HSC connected, K.scsi, medium changers - KZQSA connected medium changers - DSSI connected (TF8nn family) medium changers Significant Change ------------------ MRU V1.4 allows wildcard names for the FIND CARTRIDGE command as in the following examples: $ ROBOT FIND CARTRIDGE {"?*"} this command shows all elements namely: * slots * drives * transports * ports that are full. FIND CARTRIDGE {"*"} This command shows all slots, drives, transports and ports. Irrespective of whether they are full or empty this command shows all the elements available in the library. New Device Support ------------------ MRU V1.4 supports the following new device: - ESL9000 Libraries Time Required to Install MRU ---------------------------- The Media Robot Utility software -for any platform- requires between two and ten minutes to install, depending on the speed, power, and workload of the system.
